Bullying and Harrassment
Bullying at School
Dealing with bullying is arguably one of the most serious problems facing schools and their students today. Not only does bullying demoralise and sap the confidence of learners; it also undermines the culture and values of the school itself.
However, bullying is not confined only to students, it impacts staff themselves. Some may have been bullied themselves, some may feel powerless to help; others may wish to help but not know how.
Schools need a strategy to deal with incidences of bullying and this strategy needs to be understood by teachers, students and parents alike. It requires the “buy-in” of all stakeholders.
